SUMMARY:City of Bellevue: Behavioral Health & Transit Safety Community Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The City of Bellevue is hosting a Behavioral Health and Transit Safety Community Meeting. From Bellevue: “The main objective of the Public Safety Community Meeting is to update residents on the rollout of the Community Crisis Assistance Team (CCAT) and introduce them to the proposed Police Transit Team\, which will help ensure safety at light rail stations once light rail arrives in Bellevue. The meeting will also give residents an opportunity to provide input on both programs.” \nIn the budget hearings last fall we also opposed the creation of the new Bellevue Police Transit Team\, urging Bellevue to spend those dollars on other services and resources being prioritized in our communities. Bellevue voted to continue to expand its policing with the creation of a transit unit. You can see the Council meeting discussion of these issues here with the police proposal starting at 56:00 (10/6/22). \nWe encourage everyone to get involved and share your experiences\, needs\, and ideas >> \n

SUMMARY:Bellevue Housing Forum: Comprehensive Plan 2044
DESCRIPTION:Comprehensive plans represent a major opportunity for cities to envision and subsequently implement major changes. This includes housing: how much\, where\, what types\, what densities\, and more. \nYou’re invited to share feedback at one of three upcoming Bellevue Housing Forums on March 18\, 21\, and 23. It will be critical that these events have a strong showing of pro-housing people that live\, work\, and study in the city. We know that these voices are a necessary ingredient to empower elected leaders and staff to make bold and effective choices for growth in the city through the periodic Comprehensive Plan. Input from these events will be used to inform policy and shared with City Council and the Planning Commission. \nSIGN UP HERE for one of the three events! We also encourage you to share with others in your network. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to explore data around the city’s housing needs\, ask questions\, and engage in small group discussion. In addition to sharing your own experiences with housing\, you can support: \n\nHousing accessible to jobs and schools.\nOrienting housing near transit.\nMore\, diverse housing options across all of Bellevue’s neighborhoods.\nStrategies to create housing affordable to those at all income levels\, including low-income households.\n\nThis will be a drop-in event. People may come at any time and stay for as long as they like.
